New Year New Ways?

I've spent most of January 2026 thinking about my writing. The editing of my novel, Phinch and Leggett, (P.A.L.) is still ongoing. And I haven't started a new project because there is so much I want to write about.
Every now and again I become healthy. Which means I make more effort to reduce my sugar and do some exercises.
I'd bought some blueberries, because they're good for us, but they tasted horrid. They're never guaranteed to taste good are they? What to do with them? They were expensive. Throw them out? Freeze them?
I love blueberry muffins. I love their soft texture, the creamy-fat type of taste that lingers on my tongue long after I've devoured it all. So I decided to make them but be good and lower the sugar content.
The picture on the left is the result of adding too much milk and my muffins turned into a blueberry cake. It rose nicely. To stop me eating it within a few days, I froze most of it.
Although the texture's heavy it softens once warmed. Even straight from the freezer. Even with the sugar halved it tastes really good.
So...a new year but have I changed my ways? Not so far. I'm still trying to get myself to knuckle down and write and I'm still economising and trying to eat more healthily.
How about you?

Good blog. Always go for organic blueberries if available evenif expensive: they contain far more anthocyanine and vitamin C. Blueberries have a thin skin so the many pesticides, fungicide and others besides too easily penetrate into the flesh. Can't be washed off.
